The Bill - Stereotypical Police Officer

In this clip it shows Sgt Smith acting as an under cover police officer.
The first 5 seconds shows Sgt Smith trying to reason with the criminal, rather then 'blowing' his cover and confronting him. When the criminal refuses Sgt Smith then pulls his gun. However when he shouts to stop his voice croaks this may be seen as stereotypical as he may have made a bond with him while undercover and thereby does not want to shoot him.
Sgt Smith continues to aim at the criminal and warn him repeatedly while they criminal begins walking closer to him rather then shoot even though he has a machine gun. This also connotes with the idea they have a bond. In the last few seconds the criminal is shot by Sgt Smith because the criminal goes to shoot him.

In this clip the stereotype would be the crazed gangster criminal and the emotional yet tough undercover Police Officer.

  1. Good work - with appropriate use of terms such as 'connotes' - you evidently have a firm grasp of what is expected of you. Well done.
